Finally I got my driving distance back!!!The main factors are that I am able to correctly transfer my weight into the right places and with right timing for the swing and applying the force. Also it's because I am doing light conditioning to get my neural pathway more stimulated. To maintain this distance, from now on I need to focus on developing the major muscles and endurance to sustain this distance. The problem is, like before, I was only willing (or probably can only) to try to swing a 270yds drive once or twice in a round. If I've done too much, I need more time for muscles to rest, and walking the course isn't really in line with that objective. Not enough rest would result in subsequent shots going all over the places. Another goal that I still have trouble achieving is to score in the 70's. I've always known that it's a mental deficit, but I just didn't know where to pin it down. Lately, I believe that I've figured it out: it's my approach shots. During my pre-shot routine I really need to concentrate on getting the rhythm and weight transfer right, not to mention completely relaxed arms and the whole body. Forget about the distance and direction, as I know if I've done these preparations right, they would come out desirably. Physically, I believe that I need to manage my energy consumption. I shouldn't go for every hole, at least for now. Some hole I should just play easy that would save both of my mental concentration and the energy for my swing. On the technical side, I do think that I can improve my long and short shot accuracy. It's probably to have statistical numbers for types of errors, how they occur, and under what situations do they occur. I am going to test them out soon, preferably in 3 months. I am really looking forwards to achieving the next level. This time is with a different attitude, and I hope this good force will carry on. Though I do remember that golf is a tricky game, just like in life, you never know what is going to happen next. Bad shots still give you pars, and good shots could still end up with bogeys. As I've experienced, my emotion will go through so many up and downs again. So just hang in there, and as what my instructor has quoted from the Star Wars, "may the force be with you." |
