This is the parade in Moscow's Red Square, devoted to the 67th anniversary of the Great Victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War (what the Eastern Front of World War II is called in the former Soviet Union), 9 May, 2012. Giving the commemoration speech is Russian President Vladimir Putin (he took office for a third term on May 7th 2012). For the first time since 2008 the Moscow Military Musicians School is leading the march, also all soldiers are back to wearing their traditional dress uniforms for the pedestrian march. Presiding over the military parade in Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation; Anatoly Serdyukov. Commanding the parade is Colonel General Valery Gerasimov. General Valery Gerasimov is a graduate of the Suvorov Military School (1973), and the Tank Troops Academy Named After Malinovsky (attended 1985-1987).
