The Confession by cAmilla Wu The car door was opened gently. One strong hand was skillfully protecting the lady's head while she got in the taxi. A firm arm was offered immediately as she stepped out of the car. The slippers were waiting patiently outside the bathroom. A cup of ninety degrees water was layed carefully on the table along with a mug of hot chocolate milk. The medium rare lamb chop was served delicately on a fine bone china plate. The Australian raisins in the handmade toast vivified her appetite. Blossoming roses filled the air with fragrance. The candlelight softened the color of the chandelier. The thumping of the hearts made a perfect rhythm for him to win her smile. He was ready to confess. "I've got something to tell you," he uttered the words nervously and reluctantly. "Hmm..., " she tried to keep her smile by interupting his sentence. "Actually, I know exactly what you want to say." She remained her poise. "...I'm sorry," his voice shivered with the agony. "Don't be..." she was a lady after all. "I thought I could... It's my fault. It's me. If you need me, I will still be here for you. I'm still your friend." He tried to justify his deeds. "Thank you. And thank you for the dinner. Just take good care of yourself. It's getting late. Let's talk some other time." "I'm sorry..." She wiped her mouth with a silky napkin elegantly. She knew exactly that there would be no conversation between the two of them. The moment she stood up, she buried his tenderness and took the dignity with her.
