中華隊由「巨投」林振瑋先發3局僅失1分，雖是非責失分，其實是他自己的失誤釀禍，但關鍵時刻控制住場面，帶著2：1領先退場；中華隊第4局啟用莊昕諺，中繼2局狂飆5K，終結者莊陳仲敖也負擔2局，霸氣賞出4K關門。

中華隊首局由王騰玉選到保送並靠暴投進占二壘，曾宸佐執行短打，「點」出日本先發投手片山樂生的傳球失誤，中華隊先下一城，曾頌恩的二壘打再掃回1分。

中華隊的安打數一路高掛「1」，直到第6局終於再有安打，曾宸佐、李亦崴、曾頌恩連3棒敲安，為中華隊再添保險分。

曾頌恩的兩支安打都關鍵，賽後透露沒忍住的淚水，「打第1支安打回第2分時，上去有比較激動一點，上去守備時眼淚就自己掉下來。 」賽前看到被排在第4棒，他坦言有壓力，「看到還是排我第4棒，告訴自己不要再給球隊添麻煩。」他也說投手表現一直都很棒，知道打擊要再更加油。

搶下對日本的關鍵戰役勝利，謝承勳表示，「這場比賽不管是選手、教練，只有一個信念就是往前衝，不要還沒比賽就覺得會打不好，全力衝就對了。」

中華隊預賽3連勝，投手群表現是關鍵，合計21局僅責失1分，團隊防禦率僅0.33。謝承勳提到，教練團針對投手群調度都有做沙盤推演，包括對戰對手，以及先發、中繼、後援每一環，他也肯定，「這批投手真的是很拚，不管是先發、中繼、救援，都有很想上場投球的感覺。」
