女兒參加機器人比賽的消息

直讓我驚嚇的從椅子跌落

因為從小順手給她的教育都是屬於我熟悉的語文

有別她哥哥國語日報科學班小牛頓科展牛頓的薰陶

機器人比賽

她可勝任否心存問號

她說那是三人組的一個team work

問哪三人組

上海大媽香港覲妹台灣小妞

港中台現在很流行兩岸三地

在美東她的國際學校也流行著

暗自納悶學校裡其他的美國人西班牙人墨西哥人蘇俄人…都跑到哪

不由得想起前陣子報紙上一則新聞

美國西岸高中科學競賽

得錦標上台領獎一字排開全是黑髮黃皮膚的中國人

以為來自台灣某所高中

還沒比賽我已想像這華人三人組

就是上台領獎的那一team

嘿嘿嘿

Winne的阿姨說得對

咱們千里迢迢來不要比那些有的沒有的

比比令這大熔爐的人肅然起敬的東西吧

春秋大夢做歸做

說說這機器人比賽的感受吧

雖說美國與台灣高中教育各有千秋

在青少年時間能以興趣為導向才能走更久遠的路

這點美國佬抓住青少年心理

在教育上發揮得淋漓盡致

就拿女兒參加機器人比賽為例

科學並不是她最拿手的科目

如在台灣類似的比賽

可能以科學成績為唯一選才的標準

不見得她能有機會經歷這美好一仗

她說參加了這個比賽後

為了準備時間不夠用

這我是知道的

因為偶而的skype筆談

丟給我一句話

要等了很久才有下句話

她說她很忙

寒假回到家看她整天忙著在電腦前key資料

一種沉浸在她工作裡沒抱怨的那種

心裡明白她是玩真的

這讓我想到悽慘的青春往事

中學的科學教育簡直是”0”

長大老天爺與我開了玩笑

從事的機器外銷工作

常常要用到的物理化學

化學物理

黑手夥伴實務懂很多

講不出理論來

一直生吞活剝邊做邊學痛苦萬分

 從她身上明白了一件事

很多學習階段

給了機會產生了興趣

困難就不是那麼一回事了

下面女兒書寫關於比賽的日誌心得

雖然比賽過程結果都令她不滿意

我依然相信她已經歷這美好的一仗

Robotic Competition

prepared for almost two months
for the Challenge 5--robot dance
designing
building the stage
writing all the programs
doing all the practices
testing all parts of the dance
finally, here it comes.
SUPER GIRL
two robots
with one going down the spiral staircase
then go thru the 4 color gate, turn around, come back.
The other one is mine(well I consider that it's mine, cuz I always control that one.)
At first it lights its two LED lights
then It'll go grab the ball , turn around, then go throw/drop the ball.
Nervous.
When we are performing, every audience is just like "WOWWW!!!"
cuz there's only our team that had such an amazing stage.
Unfortunately, it just sucks.
One of them kept falling over, and the other one started late.
The judge said the places depend on the reaction audiences had, and that was just awful.
I really think that we are so unique like this, we should be put a lot more attention .
But instead, we were hung up on the side being ignored.
Felling sooo bad.
All I got from the competition is a clock which uses water(???) as a battery.
Cool though, better than Nichole And Sammi's!!
Whatever, we put soo much time and mind on this project and we really enjoy these times.
Like Every day after class which is 3:00 we run to Ms Cooley's classroom /Art Barn to work on this project
 until 3:50 then run back to our room to change for sport, and finally run out of Carter for New gym.
Amazing to me that It only takes us only TWO minutes to finish all this stuff.
Well , that's it, not a really happy ending though.
