１９９２年奧運是在西班牙第二大城巴塞隆納舉行
當年奧運特別大碟〔Barcelona Gold〕由華納發行
個人曾蒐集這張專輯, 主因是裡面收錄了Madonna彼時的冠軍曲〔This Used To Be My Playground〕
此外還有WEA體系的Anita Baker, Eric Clapton, Tevin Campbell, Luis Mugiel, James Ingram...等等
英國華麗搖滾天團〔皇后〕（Queen）主唱佛瑞迪莫克瑞（Freddie Mecury）是著名的金嗓
自小熱愛歌劇 多年來他的願望就是與歌劇女伶合作
佛瑞迪特別喜歡西班牙女高音蒙塞拉特卡芭葉（Montserra Caballe）
１９８６年 他接受西班牙電視訪問時便透露渴望與她合作
而卡芭葉也表示相當欣賞莫克瑞的才華
當巴塞隆納獲選為１９９２年奧運舉辦地後
１９８７年 兩人會面
卡芭葉請莫克瑞為她故鄉即將舉行的運動盛會譜寫一首歌曲
佛瑞迪便以城市為名寫了〔Barcelona〕
１９８７年 兩人終於如願合唱了這首英語跟西班牙語的跨界傑作
〔Barcelona〕由管絃樂團伴奏
融合了狂放不羈的搖滾樂與優雅古典的歌劇
讓佛瑞迪莫克瑞激昂的男中音金嗓與蒙塞拉特卡芭葉天籟女高音作了一次出色的結合
〔Barcelona〕在１９８７年５月首度公開表演
秋天首度發行 拿到英國＃８
愛爾蘭＃８ 瑞典＃１５ 荷蘭＃３７ 德國＃４７
１９９１年 此曲被選為１９９２巴塞隆納奧運開幕曲
莫克瑞卻在１９９１年底因愛滋病驟世
所以隔年奧運開幕典禮 卡芭葉只能跟佛瑞迪的錄音表演
〔Barcelona〕也被選為英國BBC電台播放奧運的背景曲
１９９２年重新發行 這次成績更好 拿到英國亞軍 拿到銀唱片
此外也打入多國排行榜：荷蘭／紐西蘭亞軍 法國＃６ 瑞士／愛爾蘭＃８ 瑞典＃１２ 德國＃３２澳洲＃４２
MV選在西班牙伊比沙島上全球最大的夜店──可容納１萬１千人的Privilege拍攝
此曲後來收錄在１９８８年１０月兩人合作的同名專輯〔Barcelona〕中
