１９９１年秋天起　濕濕濕為１９９２年初發行的第三張大碟〔High On Happy Side〕暖身

可是推出前兩首單曲皆反應不佳

當年聖誕節前夕　他們發行第三首子己譜寫單曲〔Goodnight Girl／晚安，女孩〕

這是一首編曲簡單　僅以鋼琴與弦樂伴奏的歌曲
旋律柔緩但優美　在主唱Martin那傑出的白人靈魂嗓音與其他團員適時的合音下

讓此曲洋溢著一股非常溫馨的和煦感
彷彿像是冬夜與老友坐在溫暖的火爐前促膝談心

〔Goodnight Girl〕推出後大受歡迎

自１９９２年１月起成為濕濕濕第二首英國冠軍　並蟬聯四週

此曲的成功也讓〔High On Happy Side〕登上排行榜王座　成為他們第二張英國冠軍
此外也在愛爾蘭拿下四週＃１

雖然一般大眾對濕濕濕印象最深刻的可能是１９９４年為〔你是我的今生新娘／Four Weddings and A Funeral〕電影主題曲所──英國十五週冠軍曲〔Love Is All Around〕(歐洲榜亦是No 1)
不過筆者倒是較偏愛〔Goodnight Girl〕

記得剛聽到此曲時便留下極為深刻的印象
