英國巨星史蒂夫溫伍（Steve Winwood）出生於１９４８年
先後擔任過 Spancer Davis Group與Traffic的團員
擁有多首暢銷曲
這位擁有一副渾厚沙啞有力的靈魂嗓音不但唱作俱佳
而且還會吉他　鍵盤　貝斯　Hammond Organ…等多項樂器
巨匠先後走過teenage R&B ,爵士　迷幻搖滾　藍調搖滾　
前衛搖滾　最後轉向成人走向的流行搖滾
１９７４年Traffic解散後　史蒂夫開始個人事業
雖時有佳績　但卻走得起起伏伏
不過８０年代中期後　溫伍走入個人事業最高峰
１９８６年夏天　３８歲的史蒂夫推出成人流行搖滾大碟〔Back In The High Life〕
首支單曲為６月發行的〔Higher Love／更崇高的愛〕　為他奪得生平第一首美國冠軍
此曲由史蒂夫與後來寫下鐵達尼號主題曲〔My Heart Will Go On／愛無止盡〕的Will Jennings共同創作
是一首編曲精緻　加重號樂與拉丁打擊樂器　並加上黑人靈魂音的AC/Pop-Rock
史蒂夫著名的Blue-Eye Soul聲音在此做了相當精彩的發揮

歌曲還邀來著名的黑人靈魂歌手夏卡康（Chaka Khan）合音
