由比利艾鐸＋David Werner創作，

Keith Forsey製作成一首新浪潮／硬式搖滾，

帶有doo-wop旋律，並受到50年代搖滾樂和“Ramones –esque龐克”的影響。

編曲氣勢十足，充滿強烈掠奪性，比利以野性歌聲表現．

此曲搭上電影《The Adventures of Ford Fairlane》的主題曲。

［Cradle of Love／愛的搖籃］最初由David Werner一人創作。

１９８９年，他與吉他手Mark Doyle、貝斯手Tom Bellin和鍵盤手Rob Deaner合作，錄製這首歌以及其他一些曲目的樣帶。

之後，Werner將這些樣帶寄送給多家唱片公司，試圖引起他們的興趣。

他面臨兩個選擇：要么與CBS Records簽約，錄製自己的專輯；

要么將《愛的搖籃》交給比利艾鐸，由艾鐸通過Elektra唱片公司錄製，作為即將上映的電影《The Adventures of Ford Fairlane》的主題曲。

在艾鐸的唱片公司Chrysalis也表示有興趣將這首歌收錄到他的下一張專輯［Charmed Life］中之後，Werner最終選擇了後者。

在錄製過程中，艾鐸對歌詞進行一些修改和補充，因此獲得了共同創作的署名。

［Cradle of Love／愛的搖籃］只拿到英國單曲榜＃３

但美國卻大受歡迎，登上告示牌單曲榜王座（1990榜#9），為艾鐸第二支美國冠軍，拿到金唱片（５０萬張＋）
