１９８４年６月，２６歲的美國音樂鬼才王子（Prince）主演歌舞片〔Purple Rain／紫雨〕

票房鼎盛．

他並配合電影發行自寫自編自製的原聲帶（Paisley Park／Warner Bros.出版）

並與伴奏樂團革命（The Revolution）共同製作（雖然仍由王子主導）

單曲跟電影的成功讓原聲帶封王　蟬聯整整２４週冠軍　至今在美國賣出１３白金，全球兩千多萬張

將王子提升到麥可傑克森（Michael Jackson）一樣的歌壇天王地位．

１９８５年４月，王子與革命樂團乘勝追擊　推出第七張錄音室大碟［Around the World in a Day］，

仍由王子創作（除兩曲外）, 並全權製作／編曲,以及參與大部份樂器伴奏，

這回王子嘗試迷曲風, 樂風更豐富，只是樂評好壞兩極。

雖然［Around the World in a Day］無法與〔Purple Rain／紫雨〕的大賣相提並論

但仍登上美國Billboard專輯榜王座, 為王子第二張美國榜冠軍（1985年榜#26），拿到雙白金（２００萬張＋）

英國榜＃５－金唱片（10萬張）．德國＃１０，荷蘭冠軍，瑞典冠軍．

在美國與國際銷售相對不錯，穩定王子的超級巨星地位。

大碟第二單曲為［Paisley Park／佩斯利公園］──只在歐洲與澳紐等國際市場發行，在某些地區是專輯第一單曲，

王子將其製作成一首迷幻-流行／放克曲，

歌曲中的小提琴由 Novi Novog 演奏，Wendy 和 Lisa 擔任和聲。

其餘部分由 Prince 演奏。

節奏中板，節拍有勁，王子以真音詮釋，其彈奏的吉他精彩。
