１９８８年，３６歲的美國猶太裔創作歌手卡拉．波諾夫（Karla Bonoff）推出第四張大碟［New World／新世界］（Gold Castle唱片）

由Mark Goldenberg製作，卡拉參與九首歌唱做，樂評良好．

只是未打入美國專輯榜．

專輯中的［All My Life／我的一生］在日本曾推出單曲

此曲由卡拉譜寫，Mark Goldenberg製作成一首成人流行抒情曲，

旋律悅耳，在優美的鋼琴聲中，卡拉純淨嗓音的詮釋動人．

１９８９年秋天，美國歌壇天后琳達朗絲黛（Linda Ronstadt）推出大碟［Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind］，

翻唱卡拉三首歌曲，其中之一便是［All My Life］──由琳達與男歌手Aaron Neville合唱．

１９９０年推出單曲，登上美國單曲榜＃１１，為波諾夫創作最成功名曲之一．

隔年讓琳達與Aaron Neville連續第二年贏得葛萊美最佳流行二人組或團體（歌聲）獎。

１９９９年卡拉推出精選輯［All My Life: The Best of Karla Bonoff］，便以此曲為名．

［All My Life］的琳達版是筆者接觸西洋音樂早期認識的歌曲，一直相當喜歡．

乍聽卡拉版，還以為是琳達的聲音，兩人聲音有某種程度相似處．
