１９９６年秋天 ３３歲的美國非裔天后惠妮休斯頓（Whitney Houston）與丹尼佐華盛頓（Denzel Washington）主演翻拍１９４７年［The Bishops Wife／主教之妻］的幻想文藝喜劇電影〔The Preacher’s Wife／天使保鑣〕（Buena Vista Pictures發行） 評價普通, 票房中等。
身為歌后的惠妮自然也參與電影原聲帶大碟製作 １１月推出的［The Preacher’s Wife］大碟（Arista／BMG出版）共有１５首歌曲全由休斯頓演唱, 製作群包括Mervyn Warren／Ricky Minor／Steve Lipson／Babyface／David Foster,以及休斯頓。 這是她事業擔任製作最多的專輯──總共十首, 並兼任執行製作 曲風包括福音, 靈魂, R&B以及流行 。 評價比電影好上許多。

在副榜──R&B榜則以雙A面主打［I Believe in You and Me／Somebody Bigger Than You］推出, 其中後者［Somebody Bigger Than You／某人比你我偉大］主攻R&B市場 此曲由Johnny Lange, Hy Heath ,Sonny Burke譜寫, １９６０年由福音歌姬Mahalia Jackson灌錄, 此後被許多歌手翻唱, 成為福音歌曲經典 ‘９６版由休斯頓與Rickey Minor製作成一首融合嘻哈, 靈魂，R&B的歌曲， 並有丈夫巴比布朗（Bobby Brown）, Faith Evans, Johnny Gill, Monica , Ralph Tresvant等人客串（Featuring） 在中板的節拍中, 眾人以演唱會饒舌, 將這首福音經典以當代R&B風格呈現 ［Somebody Bigger Than You］獲得R&B界電台支持, ［I Believe in You and Me／Somebody Bigger Than You］登上Billboard副榜－R&B榜＃４（1997年終#29） 銷售良好, 為惠妮拿到第四張白金唱片（１００萬張＋）
