由John Hurley, Ronnie Wilkins譜寫

據聞這是１９６７年Jerry Wexler要求John Hurley, Ronnie Wilkins為艾瑞莎寫一首歌,

Ronnie Wilkin記得富蘭克林的父親跟他組父一樣皆是福音傳教士, 便創作了［Son of a Preacher Man／傳教士之子］

Jerry Wexler喜歡此曲, 與富蘭克林灌錄了它

只是最後覺得跟艾瑞莎其它歌曲不合, 只好把它給了英國白人靈魂歌姬達絲蒂．史賓絲菲爾（Dusty Springfield）

後者版本１９６８年１１月發行後, 登上英美單曲榜Top１０, 國際暢銷

１９６９年, 艾瑞莎姐姐Erma Franklin也將其收在自己的專輯［Soul Sister］

在聽過達絲蒂的版本後, 艾瑞莎重新考慮, 最後將自己版本放在［This Girls in Love with You］大碟

富蘭克林的版本是首深沉靈魂曲（Deep Soul）, 在放克節拍與南方福音合聲中,中, 展現R&B的堅韌活力, 頗受好評
