In the year of 1738, some people built the Longshan Temple for their hometown’s Buddhism in Taiwan, Taipei. During that time, this temple was not only the center of Buddhism worship, but also the religious court for some litigation, reconciliation events, and etc. In the past, many people pray for Buddha to make judgment for them, and no one would doubt of it.

        Longshan Temple has gone through destructions and reconstructions for several times. One of the most serious destructions has happened during the period of World War II. This temple faces the south and the unique structure of this temple looks like the word “sun” in Chinese letter. Therefore, it contains a front hall, main hall, back hall, and the left/right of the guardian dragon.

        Since 1985, Longshan temple has upgraded to national monuments by the government. Therefore, Longshan temple, National Palace Museum and the CKS Memorial Hall are three of the main traveling locations which foreigners eager to visit the most nowadays. In recent years, Longshan Temple has added the library, a tiny museum, an artificial waterfall besides the garden and beautiful lights that may keep us feel peaceful and warm at cold winter night. Besides, it also provides scholarships for teenagers, various community education and activities, emergency and winter relieves, Buddhism lectures and psychology counseling to make our life much more peaceful, interesting and enlightened.
