I am writing you with a big smile from ear to ear. Everybody was thrilled today that Taiwanese sky has finally changed back to blue. I would like to report to you how did my day two (yesterday)go.

After having lunch at our auntie's house, my sister Lucy and I took a taxi to check out our voting sites. Besides going to these two spots( different locations), the taxi driver was very pleased to take us for many short stops. Those places included my high school and my husband's old house where he grew up. I even went to Tunghai University's (my college) reunion committee meeting afterwards. Seeing many baldy male classmates and chubby ladies (of course this includes myself.) made me wonder where did the days go. We planned to have the reunion in the month of November which means another trip back to Taiwan this year.

Before dinner was finished with them, I excused myself for attending Ma's final promoting rally. I took a bus heading Kailan Grand Blvd. The bus driver warned every passenger that his bus might be forced to take a detour. We agreed and appreciated when the driver dropped us off to a closest spot.

I didn't know any of the bus passangers. However we took care of each other so well as we were heading the rally. When I arrived there, I was stunned. There were at least more than 50 thousand people shouting and cheering every two minutes. The keynote speakers were GMT's president Wu and former president Lien. Ma was in Taichung last night. However his image showed up on a huge screen at 9 p.m. Naturally that was the highlite of the night. I took so many pictures for you and promised to post as soon as I am back home. I wanted you to imagine that you were in this cheerful and noisy night with thousands of banners, candles and balloons surround you. What a sight! I found tears rolling down on my cheeks.

Today is March 22nd, the voting day. After finished voting for Ma, I went to a Jr. high's classmate's house for lunch. I was so happy to meet 14 other classmates. While we were chatting and singing, the good news reached our ears. I thanked lord for making my trip worthy. Tomorrow afternoon, I will attend a special rally especailly prepared for oversea Chinese voters like me. I believe President Ma will be there. Will I take pictures with Ma? You bet!

Barbara reporting on the election day in Taipei

p.s. Ma won 7658724 votes (58.45%). Hsieh won 5445239 votes. (41.55%)
