路透社報導，韓特曾兩次競選執政的保守黨黨魁落敗，其中一次敗給前首相強生（Boris Johnson），第二次是與現任首相特拉斯（Liz Truss）和其他對手角逐黨魁時，於第一輪投票即出局。
