１９８１年２月, ［What a Fool Believes／多麼傻的人才相信］ 這是翻唱搖滾團體杜比兄弟（The Doobie Brothers）１９７９年登上美國Biillboard單曲榜冠軍的經典名曲 由Michael McDonald＋Kenny Loggins譜寫 土耳其音樂人Arif Mardin製作成一首靈魂放克版的歌曲 在活潑討好的節拍間, 艾瑞莎輕盈的展現其柔軟豐潤的靈魂嗓音。
［What a Fool Believes］並沒入Billboard單曲榜, 而打入副榜──靈魂榜＃１７ 舞曲榜＃３９ 英國榜＃４６（七年來首度入榜） ［Aretha］登上Billboard專輯榜＃４７ 副榜－靈魂專輯榜＃６ 也是三年來最佳 雖然大碟與單曲成績差強人意, 但至少比在Atlantic末期進步 接下幾年, 富蘭克林作品的表現越來越好, 終讓她成功東山再起
