與黑人歌手唐尼海瑟威（Donny Hathaway）在７０年代合作多次

製作出不少名曲

但因１９７９年唐尼自殺而結束

１９８０年代, 美國靈魂爵士歌姬蘿貝塔弗萊克（Roberta Flack）受邀於另一黑人歌手比柏布萊森（Peabo Bryson）的專輯獻聲, 在靈魂樂界反應不差

１９８３年, ４３歲的弗萊克與３２歲的布萊森決定推出一張情歌合唱專輯［Born to Love］　

由Michael Masser, Bob Crewe與比柏布萊森共同製作  ７月發行

首支單曲［Tonight, I Celebrate My Love］登上美國單曲榜＃１６　英國榜亞軍

成為蘿貝塔８０年代最著名的單曲

另外, 唱片公司亦推出只在黑人樂市場主打的第二單曲［Maybe／也許］（流行市場第二主打為［You’re Lookin’ Like Love To Me］）

此曲由Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager, Marvin Hamlisch譜寫,

Burt Bacharach, CarolBayer Sager製作成一首輕靈魂／流行抒情曲

在緩柔裊裊的樂聲中, 蘿貝塔與比柏交織出這首浪漫的樂章

由於沒特別宣傳, ［Maybe］只拿到Billboard副榜──黑人榜＃６８

不過持續讓［Born to Love］在排行榜流連　最後美國銷售逾５０萬張
