What are the consequences if you don’t enroll in Medicare Part B at the right time for you?
If you miss your enrollment deadline, you can sign up only during a general enrollment period, which runs from January 1 to March 31 each year, with coverage beginning July 1 of the same year. You’ll get late penalties, permanently added to your monthly Part B premiums, if you’ve gone for more than 12 months without health insurance from current employment (your own or your spouse’s) since turning 65. |
