有人，                                     Some
活著像藤蔓，                    lives like a vine,
攔住路，                            blocks the way,
只想絆倒別人的腳跟。 aims just to trip others' feet.

也有人，                           While some
願意學一根枕木，    would act as a sleeper log,
臥在鐵軌下，              lying beneath the rails,
讓負重的車輛，     to let the weight-borne vehicles
轆轆馳過。                  roll on with a rumble.

更有人，                           Still some
一張口，                        has a mouth
喝奴隸的血，       to sip blood from the slaves,
一張口，                        has a mouth
講人道主義。       to gabble humanitarianism.

但毋須奇怪，          But don't be astounded
養洋狗，                   there would be some
咬自己同胞的，  who keeps foreign breed hounds
尚有人在！            to snap at own countrymen!
