With Christmas just around the corner, a jubilant atmosphere is permeating everywhere you go. The ETGBC is without exception. On the afternoon of Dec. 19, 2016, the club held a Christmas/ year-end party at its regular gathering. Dressed themselves up in red and green, club members arrived at the classroom earlier than before. The party began with an on-sale bidding. Arrays of on-sale items were displayed on desks, including a set of exquisite handmade vase and cup with silver flowers glued onto them, two sets of unique cups and plates, an electric cooker, two pairs of brand-name sneakers, a pure cashmere scarf, handmade purses and handbag, a wax apple-shaped fork holder together with forks, a commemorative necktie, a hair dryer set, a nail-clipper set, Christmas wreaths, a quality leisure shirt, multifunctional bags, etc. Members took turns to describe features of the articles he/she provided in order to persuade prospective bidders. With members' enthusiastic involvement, the on-sale was a great success, ending up with all articles sold out. Part of the revenues was donated to the club. A party is not complete without teatime desserts. During the intermission, a variety of snack were served, such as homemade pie and cookies, homegrown citrus, cake, red-bean sticky rice balls, plum preserves, dried dates, chocolates, and more. On top of that, the party culminated in dance performance. One was a belly dance performed by Heaven with partners Sharow and Amer. The other was an aboriginal dance performed by Jenny Chou with partners of several members. Dancing gracefully, the dancers were acclaimed as talented amateurs. Thanks to all club members’ effort and cooperation, we had a joyful and unforgettable Christmas/ year-end party. |
