耶誕節，也就是所謂耶穌誕生的那天、耶穌基督的生日。但全世界的信仰這麼多元，對這有些沒有信基督教的人來說，「Merry Christmas」可能不這麼適合他們，或許說「Happy Holidays」，更能表達祝福之意。一些商家、百貨公司為了顧及所有的人，怕這些非基督徒不想跟他們消費，所以商人們就不以「Merry Christmas」為主要標語了，反而是使用 Happy Holidays 當做形象標語，後來就愈來愈流行，演變成現在在美國聖誕節的主要標語。這張海報其實是基於二次世界大戰的創意海報設計，故意諷刺在美國可能會發生什麼事情！但聽說美國人自己還是比較喜歡原本的 Merry Christmas。當然 Merry Christmas 還是很通用的，至少在台灣與香港對大部分朋友都可通用，不那麼刻意在乎宗教的人，這對他們來說也只是個問候語而已，我們還是可以跟好朋友說聲聖誕快樂 Merry Christmas 囉！
