Lately, I am seriously interested in Taiwanese food. I found a wonderful shop, Taiwan Bussankan, which sells Taiwanese agricultural products.
Taiwanese government manages the shop. I bought orange, dried lychee, canned congee, sausage, pineapple cake, jasmine tee, soy milk and so on. The shop has a space for eating. You can order rice noodle soup like this. Today, I was watching a video about farmers of mango and papaya. A family and I was watching it while eating the noodle soup. A lady of the family was from Taiwan and her husband seemed to be a Japanese. Because there was an elderly lady who spoke Japanese and who seemed to be a mother of the husband. There were her two kids, too. The kids were eating mango shaved ice, which looked so delicious. The farmers on the video were so skillful and passionate. We were all touched. The lady kindly explained what was going on every time her mother-in-law asked the detail about the farm work. She also talked to me and answered my question. I was happy and enjoyed the conversation so much. A clerk gave a large calender to the lady. She laughed and said "If you want to eat some fruits, just watch this. You would be satisfied." They gave me the same calendar last month. It makes my room bright. The most interesting fruit for me is Lienwu. I have never eaten it. It is not allowed to be imported to Japan. I would like to try it next time I visit Taiwan. |
