Time flied so quickly and the three weeks were past. I have learned something here. I would like to point out the things that I learned from this three-week practicum. First, It’s a great time being with so many children. They’re cute, lovely and friendly, even though it’s an easy and also tough job to be with children, especially in kindergarten. So I really admire all the teachers in the kindergarten. They are so patient and know the children so well. I think it’s must be due to their love for the children and the experiences during the years of teaching. Second, teaching children English is really not an easy thing. We learned a lot about teaching in the school, but it’s still a hard thing to do it in real. And I think, preparation is very very very important. A good preparation can make a teacher be more confident about her or himself. And also it’s teachers’ responsibility to prepare for the lessons. Third, I found that I really like making props. Because I learned that it is so important to have props within teaching children English. Everything will be better if you have something visual, colorful, vivid or interesting in the class. Children will act totally different. Forth, I can see how different between Taiwanese English teachers and foreign English teachers. They have different style of teaching, different opinions to the same class, and different feeling about their jobs. There are some teachers that really love children and enjoy in teaching them, but some of them are facing the boredom of teaching. I think everyone, include me surly, will have to face the same problem, that is whatever you do and wherever you are, you will get problems one day. You cannot keep yourself being well all the time. We will have to face problems that come out all of a sudden. Knowing how to solve the problem will be essential. I have learned many things during this internship, but I can’t describe them at one time here. And at the end, I would like to say: ”It was really a great time for me. I will remember the time here in the Boston Kindergarten.” I want to thank Emma, for being so friendly to us and keeping encouraging us, and then I want to thank the principle. She was so busy but still came to our presentations during the last week and gave us so many helpful and nice suggestions that inspired us. And also teacher Mandy, Olive, Bianca and Carrie. They were really kind to us. They treat us like their friends and gave us as many suggestions as possible before and after each presentation. Of course, I want to say “ Thank you so much!!” to the teachers in the Wenzao, too. They were so sweet and touch during those days. They made lot efforts in keeping in touch with all the students in the internship all round Taiwan. I’m really proud of them. |
