Dear All,

We had a very animated discussion about the movie - The Remains of the Day yesterday. We greatly appreciate Sherry, she prepared the topic very attentively, she brought us to know the background of the author - Kazuo Ishiguro, He is a Nobel Prize-winning English novelist, screenwriter, and short story writer, He was born in Nagasaki, Japan; his family moved to England in 1960 when he was five, so in the movie, we can see the butler's spirit is somehow alike Japanese' culture-specific, repressed one's emotion in the heart. Sherry quoted one word from the movie, " set me free is to love me".   We hereby especially want tot thank Peter and Frances attending the meeting. Peter helped us to know the whole culture of aristocrats and Frances also told us English is much more care about one's  privacy among people than American and Canadian.  Peter and Frances will go back England in March 1.  We really appreciate their short stay with us, we look forward to seeing them before long.　(From Florence Tseng)
