Americans now have access to a radar scrambler, the latest tool in the ongoing war between speeding motorists and traffic cops. Priced at under $100, this device can be purchased by anyone. For $199.95, a more powerful version is available, capable of disrupting police liDAR and older RF radars. These scramblers surpass regular radar detectors by emitting signals that confuse police radar, thereby preventing an accurate calculation of a driver's speed.

Radar detectors are banned in several European countries, including the UK, as well as in certain US states. Mike Churchman, the founder of Rocky Mountain Radar in Littleton, Colo., clarifies that scramblers operate differently from radar detectors and are not affected by the same legal restrictions. Unlike radar detectors, scramblers do not detect radar signals. Instead, they employ a high-gain antenna to reflect incoming signals back to the radar gun, while simultaneously emitting another radio signal to confuse the receiver.

Included in the company's more expensive Phazer scrambler is an infrared LED that emits invisible infrared pulses through the car's windshield. Lidar processes these pulses as reflections to ascertain the car's distance. Nonetheless, speed measurement values may be inaccurate as they are derived from a series of distance readings.

It was mentioned by Churchman that laws have been passed in Oklahoma and Minnesota to prohibit our operations. The Minnesota law was enforced in August. Despite being under investigation by the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission, Churchman stated that no legal actions have been taken against us.
