Maria Gaetana Agnesi
An Italian mathematician and philosopher,credited with writing the first book discussing both differential and integral calculus and was an honorary member of the faculty at the University of Bologna.

Calculus

The mathematical study of change,[1] in the same way that geometry is the study of shape and algebra is the study of operations and their application to solving equations.

Bologna
the largest city (and the capital) of Emilia-Romagna Region in Italy. It is the seventh most populous city in Italy, located in the heart of a metropolitan area (officially recognized by the Italian government as a città metropolitana) of about one million.

pepperoni
An American variety of salami, usually made from cured pork and beef mashed together.

Richard Cory
A narrative poem written by Edwin Arlington Robinson. It was first published in 1897, as part of The Children of the Night, having been completed in July of that year, and remains one of Robinson's most popular and anthologized poems.

Synecdoche
A figure of speech in which a term for a part of something refers to the whole of something, or vice-versa. An example is referring to workers as hired hands.

    Drab; dark, colorless, or cheerless.
        e.g.: It had rained for three days straight, and the dreary weather dragged the townspeople's spirits down.

8.dubious (adjective)

    Arousing doubt; questionable; open to suspicion.
        e.g.: After he made some dubious claims about the company, fewer people trusted him.
    In disbelief; wavering, uncertain, or hesitating in opinion; inclined to doubt; undecided.
        e.g.: She was dubious about my plan at first, but later I managed to persuade her to cooperate.

9.escalate (verb)

    to increase (something) in extent or intensity; to intensify or step up
        e.g.: Violence escalated during the election.
        e.g.: The shooting escalated the existing hostility.
    in technical support, to transfer a telephone caller to the next higher level of authority
        e.g.: The tech 1 escalated the caller to a tech 2.

10.drizzle (verb)

    To rain lightly; to shed slowly in minute drops or particles.

11.diminutive (adjective)

    Very small.
    Serving to diminish.

12.bedlam (noun)

    A place or situation of chaotic uproar, and where confusion prevails.

13.metronym (noun)

    The name of someone's mother.
    A matronymic surname.

14.malignant (adjective)

    Harmful, malevolent, injurious.
        e.g.: malignant temper;  malignant revenge;  malignant infection

15.pantheism (noun)

    The belief that the universe is in some sense divine and should be revered. Pantheism identifies the universe with God but denies any personality or transcendence of such a God.

16.sway (noun)

    The act of swaying; a swaying motion; a swing or sweep of a weapon.
    A rocking or swinging motion.
        e.g.: The old song caused a little sway in everyone in the room.
    Influence, weight, or authority that inclines to one side; as, the sway of desires.
        e.g.: I doubt I'll hold much sway with someone so powerful.

17.aesthetic (adjective)

    Concerned with beauty, artistic impact, or appearance.
        e.g.: It works well enough, but the shabby exterior offends his aesthetic sensibilities.

    To ascribe; attribute; credit with.
    To put or bring into credit; to invest with credit or authority; to sanction.

23.confiscate (verb)

    To use one's authority to lay claim to and separate a possession from its holder.
        e.g.: In schools it is common for teachers to confiscate electronic games and other distractions.

24.coherent (adjective)

    Unified; sticking together; making up a whole.
    Orderly, logical and consistent.
    Aesthetically ordered.
    Having a natural or due agreement of parts; harmonious: a coherent design.

25.ravish (verb)

    To transport with joy or delight; to delight to ecstasy.
