"I consider myself fortunate to have the chance of experiencing the BeiJing Olympics. A mainland company with which I have business dealings since 2005 was awarded a service contract for the Games, and they have kindly invited me as a consultant to this prestigious assignment. I spent some 70 hours betn 12 & 15 Aug in BJ, and attended the events of weight-lifting, gymnastics, table-tennis, swimming, tennis(rain ruined my schedule to see Federer), badminton, & athletics. other than the superb performance of the athletes which was also seen by billions of TV viewers worldwide, what impressed me most was the ubiquitous volunteers who r enthusiatic, friendly, helpful & omniprescent both within & without the competiton venues. While some media criticised CCTV/XinHua for mis-translating the IOC Presidents adjective "exceptional" as “無與倫比”, perhaps Dr Rogge should have used "unrivalled " or "unparalleled", coz the well over 1 million volunteers more than deserve the compliment, let alone the multi-billion dollar state-of-the-art hardware."
