最近在高雄林園海灘，有民眾發現外觀神似傳統點心〝紅龜粿〞的海洋生物，讓當地居民很疑惑，不過就有專家說，這是福斯卡側鰓海蛞蝓，分泌的黏液有毒性，提醒民眾別動手觸摸，更別捕食。高雄市報導 外觀像極了傳統糕點紅龜粿，其實是福斯卡側鰓海蛞蝓。
海灘上出現一隻紅褐色的生物，外觀像極了傳統糕點紅龜粿，也有人說有點像海龜，這到底是什麼生物，大家都很好奇。民眾vs.記者：「你覺得牠看起來像什麼東西，像烏龜吧像烏龜喔。」民眾：「因為很奇特所以應該會去抓，應該會去看一下啦。」 林園海灘出現龜甲側鰓海蛞蝓，一次還有三隻。
好奇想摸的民眾千萬別衝動，因為這生物的黏液具有毒性，不是紅龜粿也不是海龜的海洋生物，名為福斯卡側鰓海蛞蝓，近期在林園海灘被發現，還一次出現三隻，體型約在長15公分，寬11公分，實在難得。林園愛鄉協會創會理事長陳俊強：「這是林園第一次發現到這樣的，大型的這個海蛞蝓，牠的背甲很特別啦，就像是龜板一樣，基本上牠是有毒的，盡量就是遊客如果你看到了，盡量是不要去動牠。」
民眾：「不曾看過這我都60歲了，遇到這也感覺很奇怪。」背部看起來是一塊塊厚實隆起的花紋，並由白線條勾邊，福斯卡側鰓海蛞蝓又被叫做龜甲側鰓海蛞蝓，色彩多變，體型龐大，最長可以長到30公分，白天通常躲在石頭下，夜晚才出來活動，因為黏液有毒，也呼籲民眾若看到牠，欣賞就好，千萬別動手去摸。
