As a Chinese, I fully support the statement made by Mr. Hu of PROC to the Japanese visitors. "「只要日本領導人明確做出不再參拜供奉有甲級戰犯的靖國神社的決斷,我願就改善和發展中日關係,與日本領導人進行會晤和對話。」" This is a matter of principle. When a country leader Koijutsumi made repeated official visit to the Shrine, which, in fact become known international long last resting place for WW2 major War criminal, he is motivated by a subconsciensness of reviving the Militarism in Japan. Mr. Secrest of American historian said well. Japan is a country with pride. Based on the Japanese long history, Japan had not been defeated before WW2 with war against Russian and other countries. The defeat of WW2 put all Japanese under national humiliation and brought all of the national under Chinese and American's feet is the national scar and pain they have long wanted to heal. Koijumi's stubborn act is 1st step to rebuild national confidence and set a stepping-stone to become next Super power in the world theater. I say this out of my personal observation and complete fairness. I have to say this out of my conscience. We Chinese are peace-loving people. We do not want an another War in Asia. In this world, no system is perfect. The democratic countries present too many bad example due many to the individual with evil ambition and greed desire for power and money. As a result, people pays the price for their own suffering for the side effect of the democratic medicine. For a leader of powerful country we people are always looking for them bringing about good life. I don't think China is a perfect country but as long as it can bring about good life to people, I want China to become strong and powerful. For over seas Chinese, when your mother country become strong you will not be looked down upon by other national. Until then people with Chinese identity can walk with your head up and tell them:"I am one of the Proud Chinese." |
