談B肝复健  Cut cost of 肝安能

Part 20.干安能。一盒四千块 How to save NT$32,000 a year?

In consideration of many patients living at the edge of hand-to-mouth life style, I would like to suggest oral Epivir by means of taking  the following measure:

1.Spend NT$16,000 a year for Epivir in stead of NT$48,000. The cost of a pill is $4.50 (U.S. currency) and that is universal market price the same the world over.  If you are a medium or low income family, in order to reduce the cost of Epivir in your monthly bill, tell your doctor, that you want Epivir 150mg. After you go back home, use the knife or blade to cut it in half  or 3 parts. In my opinion, the medicine is designed for Westerner.  With oriental body build up, we probably need one third or half the dosage which would take care of suppressing the virus activities.  This is the way how I minimize the dosage and spend only half of the expense annually.  You will save NT$32,000 a year by taking 50 mg a day to see how you feel.  Do not stop the medicine no matter what the doctor tell you.  It is your life and your money. Should you feel no headache no ear drum pain some sort of side effects, then it is all right for you to keep the same dosage.

For 1st 3 years you may feel mouth dry and might drink more water in the night. That is side effect you are going to experience and you can live with that. Otherwise, you are perfectly normal.

2.If you are a patient originally inherit The HBV from your parents, you must take Epivir once the virus is activating. In anther words, your liver function becomes abnormal from blood test. If you are just one of the carriers Do not take Epivir. I repeat “do not take Epivir and check your blood periodically. However, once you carry Jaundice and developed Cirrhosis you have to seriously consider other option like liver transplantation. Oral Epivir may slow down the process of becoming liver cancer but you have to prepare your self for the worst.

3.According to Edmond Chen, Tien-Jen hospital has performed the most liver transplantation in whole China. Most of their doctors, if not all, have been trained either in Japan or the States. The cost is not cheap.

Check it up on line and pay a visit to China. Both Taiwan and China doctors want money. I don’t think they will provide you with free services.  The after care can be taken care after you come back to your residing country.

I am not a doctor. Chinese has saying” Prolonged illness makes one good doctor!”  The life is precious. There are more good doctors than bad doctors. It is YOU who makes decision for your own life. Even in the America you find bad doctor once a while. All they care, BAD doctors, are your frequent visit so that they make more money. Therefore, choose your doctor carefully and have 2nd opinion once you have to decide operation.

Any way, I am devoting my time and energy to help those unfortunate poor.  If Taiwan government take my advice and look into this matter for a proper answer, it would be helpful for all taxpayer and economically poor patient.  I will dedicate myself  to this course until more people is helped.

Good luck, May God bless you!
