Part 12. Gave Epivir a shot before liver transplant
 

 I would like to share the data with patient of HB. 4/16/98 was the date of blood test result on Platelet ct in L.A. that showed PT increased to 72L after stopped Ganbonin. The A-FP 560VH on 5/1/98 restarted the G Medicine 5/13/98 PT 66L >9/29/98=PT 53L A-FP became normal.12/2/98 PT>37L. This figure reached to dangerous level and I was ordered to stop Ganbonin.

I faxed the above finding to Dr. Makuuchi before I started anothertrip the end of 1998 to Tokyo.

I found my lower parts of feet were a little bit swellen. They disappeared a couple of days later. There were no jaundice appeared on my skin or eyes.

 

I restarted the Ganbonin and Dr. Makuuchi had no objection. He told me that TG9 and Ganbonin basically are the same contents of Chinese herb. Since I feel there were no side effect with me on Ganbonin and he felt there is no reason to raise objection.

 

In Jan 1999 I raised the question about the new Epivir medicine. He said based on experiment the record shows that was good for a period of one year. Side effect and recurrence after stopped taking medicine were reported. He did not consider it a safe medicine.  Besides, it is not approved by FDA and eventually not legalized in Japan.

 

Having all those information in hand, I decided I had to give it a try.  I had been tired of this medicine by starting and stopping frequently for over 4 years and I just could not work like a normal people. 

 

I decided to take my own risk and asked my friend Alan to get Epivir from Hong Kong in 2/12/1999.

Since 3/19/99 I have been taking Epivir for 7 years with 75 mg dosage every day. I emphasis that it is my decision. If some thing goes wrong I take full responsibility of my life.

 

I would like to tell my finding in next part about my experience with Epivir. I think it would be helpful for those who are having HB disease and eagerly seeking 1^st hand information for them to tide over the difficult period.

(14) why cancer cell not activated after 10 years medicine?

Since 1995 with increased A-fP figure, I thought that cancer was going to attack me.  It was a matter of time after Joyce told me based on scientific statistics of Taiwan and Japan reports.

10 years has passed it did not come. I am in my thinking that Ganbonin and Epivir have had a role in obviating that happening. I have not read any report from any doctors about this finding. Therefore, I cannot rule out the contribution of these two medicines for early stage of liver cancer. (If you have had better information, please share with all of us.)

The big difference I found is that you feel weak while taking Ganbonin and you feel healthy after you take Epivir. Believe or not, physically I feel I can handle 4-8 hours continues work without feeling too much fatigue with Epivir. While taking Ganbonin, you walked 30 minutes you immediately felt needing a rest.

As for diet, there is not much difference between the two. I am not very picky in diet. I eat every thing my wife prepared. One thing I would like particularly share with others is that taking "Epivir" I need eating Beef every day.  Not the one people usually cook like "stew" but rare steak.  I asked Dr. Rose why?  He said it is all up to each individual. Typical example is Dalai, thought being a buddist; he has to eat meat based on doctor's advice. In fact, if I do not eat beef I would feel eye vision blear or soar.
