If using the technology diffusion theory to analyse my own technology adoption pattern, I am definitely not an early adoptor (but both my brothers are), and I would rather wait until the product is matured and price comes down. I am not neither a late nor non adoptor but I need to have reasons to adopt the technology (I don't do it for the sake of doing it). For example, it takes me a long time to use electronic PDA partly because I did not have needs to have one. I got my 3G iPhone yesterday to replace my Amarni touch phone. I am not entirely happy with my Amarni because the touch screen is not sensitive enough and it usually takes me ages to send a text message. The biggest attraction of 3G iPhone is its inbuilt multi-langauge option which means that I don't need to buy a mobile in Taiwan or having someone to alter my mobile in order for me to send and receive messages in Chinese. The previous iPhone was simply too expensive to have and it has proved that I was right not to have one until now otherwise I won't be able to have this multi-language built in 3G. Oh, I like the idea that I can watch YouTube on my mobile, but the sad fact is that I don't usually use YouTube (so why am I happy about this? ). |
