Taroko National Park was established in 1986.  In the Atayal aboriginal language, Taroko means magnificence.  The Taroko Gorge provides the most famous scenic attractions. There are famous waterfalls and precipices as perfect expressions of the natural wonders everywhere in the Taroko National Park.
