Talos, a threat intelligence organization owned by Cisco, unveiled a "Sea Turtle" attack, alleging that the operation continued to target more than 40 countries in 13 countries in the Middle East and North Africa from January 2017 to the first quarter of this year. Organizations launched DNS attacks and believed that the attack was committed by state-backed hackers. The Turtle Action uses DNS as the main attack method to guide visitors to the server controlled by the hacker by illegally tampering with the DNS name record. The main victims of the operation are the National Security Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, well-known energy organizations, and third-party operators who provide services to these organizations; the secondary victims are DNS registrars, telecommunications operators and ISPs. more info pcweb |
