*example:I'm offended by his implication that women can't be good at mathematics.

2.reprise:a repeat of something or part of something, especially a piece of music

*origin:Middle English, from Middle French repris, past participle of reprendre

*example:He will reprise his role in the play.

3.hook:a curved device used for catching or holding things, especially one fixed to asurface for hanging things on

*origin:Middle English, from Old English hōc; akin to Middle Dutchhoec fishhook, corner, Lithuanian kengė hook

*example:She hit a hook into the left rough.

4.graphic: shown or described in a very clear way

*origin:Latin graphicus, from Greek graphikos, from graphein

*example:the report offered many graphic details about the devastating earthquake that rocked the area

5.stride:to stand astride

*origin:Middle English, from Old English strīdan; akin to Middle Low German striden to straddle, Old High German strītan to quarrel

*example:She strode across the room towards me.
