The English fashion designer launched her label Temperley London in 2000, building up a reputation for creating chic dresses with a touch of bohemian flair. Though Temperley operates five standalone stores and distributes to over 150 high-end department stores and websites, she doesn't have any desire to jump on the instant fashion business model that brands such as Burberry, Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford have adopted, where they offer clothes to the consumer straight off the runway. "It's difficult for me to think about my collection as a product instantly available to buy, as a lot of work and craftsmanship goes into each piece," she told Luxury London. "I experimented with 'see now, buy now' for my spring/summer 17 show, allowing our customers to buy three looks directly from the runway. It was a success. However, the detailing and artistry that go into each Temperley London piece makes it unique and timeless, something our customers think is worth waiting for." Temperley is currently gearing up to unveil her spring/summer 18 collection, which will be presented during London Fashion Week in September (17). Talking about how the Internet has changed fashion, the 42-year-old explained that labels need to be able to adapt in the digital age. "E-commerce and social media have changed the way brands communicate with their customers, and the way customers interact with brands. It keeps moving faster, and it is imperative to focus and be consistent," she stated. In addition to running her company, Temperley has penned a book about her work, which is coveted by the likes of Kate Hudson, Naomie Harris, and the Duchess of Cambridge. The project, titled Alice Temperley: English Myths and Legends, will be available online from 5 September.Read more at:cheap formal dresses online | plus size formal dresses |
