The chin, one of the most obvious facial structures, plays an important role in the perception of the face. Horizontal sliding Osteotomy of the mandibular symphysis with advancement of the mobilized segment is the technique of choice for correction of the anterior posterior deficiency. Sliding genioplasty can be an adjunctive procedure to rhinoplasty if the patient has a weak chin and wants a more harmonic face features.

     On the contrast, sliding genioplasty can decrease the projection of chin if the patient has a strong chin (macrogenia).
