| 多益題型最近出現跟「五官」相關連的用法，值得在此一提： 1. " Eye to eye " → see eye to eye with ... 與……意見一致 John seldom sees eye to eye with his parents. 約翰很少與他父母親的意見一致 2. " Ear to ear " → smile/grin from ear to ear 笑得合不攏嘴（嘴角裂到兩隻耳朵） John smiled from ear to ear after hearing the news.  約翰得知消息之後笑得合不攏嘴。 3. " Mouth-to-mouth " → mouth-to-mouth resuscitation 口對口人工呼吸 *Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation （CPR）心肺復甦術 John gave her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation before the ambulance arrived. 約翰在救護車到達前為她施行了口對口人工呼吸。 4. " On the nose " （時間）整點 John goes jogging at 4:00 p.m. on the nose every day. = John goes jogging at 4:00 p.m. sharp every day. = John goes jogging at exactly 4:00 p.m. every day. 約翰每天下午4點整準時跑步。 5. " Hand-to-mouth " → hand-to-mouth existence 勉可餬口的生活 I was told that John lived a hand-to-mouth existence. 我聽說約翰過著勉可餬口的日子。 |
