The birth of Psychiatry~ A world without psychiatry

During this period the patients were very miserable, for example

as the following:

             Patient was prison in a hole in the floor of the cabin.

             Put in a pigpen by his father and would lap the food from his bowel with his mouth just like an animal.

             One man had been chained by his wife to the wall of their house for five years.

This kind of condition persisted well into the C19^th

  In a world without psychiatry, rather than being tolerated or indulged, the mentally ill were treated with savage lack of feeling.
