Business Class: A Serious Look from AMS to BKK

Flight Time: Ten hours and forty minutes 

Flight Attendant 1: "Hi, Sir, have you enjoyed your dinner?"

Passenger: "Yes."

FA 1: "Would you like to have your dessert?"

P:"Yes, please."

FA 1: "We have prepared cake and ice cream for your desert. Which one would you like to have?"

P:"Cake, please."

FA 1: "Any tea or cofffee to go with your dessert?"

P: "Coffee, please."

FA 1: "How would you like your coffee? With sugar, cream or both or just black?"

P:"Just Black."

FA 1: "Sure. I'll be right back with you."

Two minutes later...

The second flight attendant was approaching the passenger holding the dessert plate and greeting him while the first flight attendant was setting his coffee down on his table.

FA 2: "Hi, Sir, I hope you have enjoyed your meal. Would you like to have ice cream or cake for your dessert?"

FA 1: "Cake," giving a quick eye contact to hint FA 2. But, it seemed a tiny bit too late...

P: "Oh. I just told her. So you don't communicate with each other, do you?"

The passenger was busy reading some paper reports and checking his files on the computure from time to time. 

FA 1: "Oops... I knew he was going to say this since he looks quite serious." FA 1 whispered this thought in her mind and she also knew that serious people usually do not talk much. And once they start using long sentences, the conversation could be smelly, unpleasant and hurting under this kind of circumstances. 

FA 2: Giving the passenger a sweet smile, "I'm sorry, Sir. I hope that we don't bother you too much," she made this conversation easy and professional. 

FA 1: "I'll go to the galley and kiss my partner more often for a better communication." She was good at bringing herself out of the trouble.

The passenger smiled and kept reading the reports.

Ten minutes passed...

The passenger finished his dessert and buried himself again in his study.

FA 1: Collecting the plates, "Sir, Are you a professor? I saw that you were reading some very serious reports and document," she tried to build up some conversations to help her know him more. 

P: "Yes, " showing the big smiles, " I am. We are doing the research about Zika virus. I'll have a meeting later." 

FA 1:"Professor, I hope that you have a successful meeting time. If you need anything, let me know!"

Knowing the serious look came from a serious issue that is bothering the whole world, FA 1 finally found her answer to her doubt. The prompt conversation that created a little bit tension and uncomfortable feelings died away with a more important mission and mutual understanding.
