對於聖多美與台灣斷交，大陸黨媒《人民日報》微信公眾號「俠客島」21日以〈講真，留給台灣的朋友不多了〉為題指出，台灣應該認清楚斷交不僅是丟掉一個「邦交國」如此簡單，文中也特別提及我方無法支付聖國提出2.1億美元金援，而未來川普上台後，若要符合共和黨要求軍費占GDP3%，得多支付40億美元，對台灣更是一大筆錢。

對於聖多美要求我方金援2億美元，我方因拒絕而斷交。「俠客島」指出，為什麼台灣2億美元都出不起？該文指出，按照美國共和黨利益集團的要求，台灣要實現自保，軍費開支要占到GDP3%；台灣現在的軍費占GDP2.2%，有0.8個百分點的差距。

台聖斷交涉中美博弈

該文稱，從美國準總統川普角度而言，他話中有話的地方在於，「我給你面子接你電話，還不趕緊買我的武器？」但蔡英文會退縮，0.8%的GDP，差不多約40億美元（1200億新台幣）。對我們（大陸）而言不值一提，但對台灣這是相當大的一筆錢。

該文強調，台灣問題只是中國戰略利益的一環。所謂「斷交」，只是一個點，背後牽涉的是中美博弈這個「面」。「斷交」的板子直接打在台灣的屁股上，因為台灣新當局一直不肯承認九二共識，國台辦喊話喊多了，「他們感覺不到痛」，甚至認為我們投鼠忌器，不敢輕易開啟台灣的「斷交潮」。

中國核心利益不能動

俠客島譏諷說，「這道川菜（暗指英川通話）雖然好吃，卻挺麻辣的，吃下去肚子可不舒服了」，強調「一中原則」才是國際政治裡面的硬通貨，「如果不承認這個原則，你連船都搭不上」。

該文指出，中美很多問題是牽一髮而動全身。無論是中國海軍捕獲美國的潛水器，還是此次「斷交」某種程度上，也是中國向包括美國在內的國際社會傳遞訊息：中國的核心利益不能動，不容置喙。
