I remembered this movie, Friends with Money. I was really keened to watch this movie when I saw its poster at the On Show board in one of the Cinema Nouveau theatre.

That was at the time when I was still working for my dad.

Somehow, many things came up at that period of time. After like two years, then I eventually had my chance to watch this movie, at Taipei’s home, in front of a TV.

I did not watch it from the beginning; in fact, I watch it from the middle way.

I am not the type of person who like to watch a movie from the middle way, unless there are really something attract my attention or I already seen it before and knew it is a good movie. <The third possibility might just be that I am too bored.>

Immediately, I knew this is a movie about problems in life. The characters inside the movie are so different, a designer, a writer, a rich housewife, and a cleaner. Their age is different, their issues are different, but they have one thing in common, they are friends.

The movie reminds me of the Liu’s family. We met each other in the University; we had been through a lot with each other, made great influences on each other’s life. After graduation, we scattered around the world, we are living different kind of life and are being shaped by it. As time pass by, we are going to be so different than what we used to be in varsity, I wonder, what would it be like for our reunion in the future?

There are several lines in the movie that made a deep impression in my mind. One of it is from the rich housewife’s husband, “You are so different, I wonder if you only met her now, would you two still be friends?”

The rich housewife took few second to think, and then replied, “Probably not.”

That was exactly what S and I was discussing about in one of the chatting nights.

I would really love to watch the whole movie, and then write another review about it. The attraction of this movie to me is still the same as two years ago. It seemed to be like some kind of preview for the Liu’s family’s future reunion. It is really amazing that I would have the same thoughts and feelings toward one thing even after time pass by. Thus, I have to watch the whole movie later for sure.
