Taiwan’s LCD Investments in China a Priority, Policy Unit SaysJanuary 18, 2010, 01:26 AM EST By Chinmei Sung and Tim Culpan Jan. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Ethylene plants will remain restricted in the next round of easing, Lien said. Taiwanese companies have invested an estimated $150 billion in China in the past 20 years, while Chinese companies have invested NT$1.2 billion ($38 million) in Taiwan since June 30, according to data from the island’s Straits Exchange Foundation. Taiwan’s benchmark stock index climbed 78 percent in 2009, its best year in 16, as investors bet that closer China ties will bolster the island’s economic growth. |
