教廷 (又稱梵蒂岡)是位在義大利首都羅馬西北角高地的一個國中國，為天主教會最高權力機構聖座 (Holy See)的所在地，也是教宗的駐地所在。教廷國土面積為0.44平方公里，總人口836人。
教廷是全球12億天主教徒的信仰中心，也是全球領土面積最小、人口最少的國家，其前身為教宗國。聖座自1929年開始以《拉特蘭條約》確定為主權國家，而梵蒂岡接受聖座的直接統治，實施政教合一的政治體制。
教廷是一個宗教領袖制國家，元首就是教宗，由80歲以下的樞機主教在西斯汀禮拜堂裡選舉產生，任期終身。雖然教廷在地理上是一個小國，由於天主教在全球龐大的信仰人口，使其在政治和文化等領域擁有著世界性的影響力。
