１９７７年　琳達登上最具權威性的新聞雜誌〔Time／時代〕雜誌封面

這是７０年代唯一擁有此榮譽的女歌手

可見她當時在歌壇的崇高地位與受歡迎的程度

１９４６年　琳達出生於亞利桑那州的琳達擁有英國　墨西哥拉丁裔　德國　荷蘭等複雜血統

自小就喜歡音樂的她在１９６５年與兩名男團員組成〔The Stone Poneys〕樂團　走的是民謠搖滾風

１９６７年推出首張專輯

同年第二張大碟〔Evergreen Vol.2〕還出了一首流行榜Top２０暢銷曲〔Different Drums〕

１９６８年　琳達離開〔The Stone Poneys〕　開始單飛事業

１９６９年發行首張大碟〔Hand Slow…Home Glown〕　被視為第一位走另類鄉村風的女歌手專輯

１９７１年推出的第三張同名大碟是琳達事業中的重要作品

這張專輯走的是比先前更加精緻柔和　更加多元的鄉村搖滾風

裡邊的幾位合音組成後來大名鼎鼎的〔The Eagle／老鷹〕樂團　還隨她巡迴一段時間

１９７３年琳達與Asylum公司簽約　發行〔Don’t Cry Now〕　獲得市場更大反應

這張專輯也開始她跟製作Peter Asher多年的合作

１９７４年的〔Heart Like A Wheel〕則讓朗絲黛大紅　成為一線女星

不但登上專輯榜冠軍　也推出〔You’re No Good〕〔When I Be Loved〕兩首單曲榜冠亞軍曲

１９７５年秋天的〔Prisoner In Disguise〕　１９７６年的〔Hasten Down The Wind〕也大受歡迎

１９７７年２月　琳達登上〔Time／時代〕雜誌封面

這時的她不但是歌壇巨星　也是性感象徵之一

９月　琳達發行更加搖滾取向的〔Simple Dreams〕大碟

成為她第二張冠軍專輯　也是她最暢銷的錄音室作品　在一年之內賣了３５０萬張

這是女歌手彼時少有的紀錄

不但讓琳達的聲勢再度躍升　更讓她成為當年全球所得最多的女歌手

〔Simple Dreams〕首支單曲〔Blue Bayou〕翻唱Roy Orbison１９６３年的舊作　大賣百萬張　登上流行榜＃３

第二主打也是翻唱Buddy Holly１９５８年的歌曲〔It’s So Easy〕

琳達將此曲改成輕快　富有流行味的鄉村搖滾

以她豐沛有力的圓潤歌喉賦予〔It’s So Easy〕新生命

結果登上美國流行榜＃５　成人抒情榜＃３７　鄉村榜＃８７

成為〔It’s So Easy〕最有名的版本
