１９８５年６月２４　日本當時最紅的歌壇偶像女王──２３歲的松田聖子（Seiko Matsuda）嫁給年長１２歲的名演員神田正輝

舉行豪華盛大的結婚典禮　被媒體稱為‘聖輝之婚’

唱片公司也趁這波新聞熱潮為旗下這隻金雞母發行專輯單曲來撈錢

就在聖輝之婚同一天　新力發行松田聖子進軍國際的首支英文單曲〔DANCING SHOES／舞鞋〕

作為送給歌迷的禮物

這是將在８月推出　聖子以〔Seiko〕首張英文大碟〔Sound of My Heart／我心之聲〕的先發主打

專輯由拿過葛萊美大獎的美國名製作人Phil Ramone操刀

並

並邀來許多歐美詞曲家如麥可波頓（Michael Bolton）　John Bettis（The Carpenters〔Yesterday Once More〕，瑪丹娜〔Crazy For You〕）提供歌曲

〔DANCING SHOES〕由美國詞曲家Steve Bliss＆Stephen Kipper所寫

是首節奏明快的流行舞曲

描述壁花女孩想要逃離作冷板凳的窘態

最後主動出擊　成功邀得心儀的男子共舞

當時聖子的英文咬字雖沒有後來標準　但仍比一般日本人好很多

外文歌曲一向較難在ORICON公信榜獲得佳績

不過聖子的高人氣讓〔DANCING SHOES〕登上排行榜后座　成為她連續第二十首冠軍曲

雖然是松田出道以來銷售最低的單曲（近２０萬張）

〔DANCING SHOES〕也創下日本歌手首次以全英文歌曲登上冠軍的紀錄

MV以愛情喜劇的手法在美國紐約拍攝　聖子是裡面唯一的亞洲人　相當風趣

〔Sound of My Heart〕大碟在８月推出

美國CBS總公司想以此將聖子打入國際　可是因為婚事作罷

儘管松田結婚後即暫時終止演藝工作　並沒太多宣傳

專輯仍登上亞軍　成為當年日本＃２６暢銷的專輯
