１９６５年１２月，２５歲半的美國歌手南西辛納屈（Nancy Sinatra）推出單曲［These Boots Are Made for Walkin’／這些靴子是做來走路的］，

Lee Hazlewood創作，歌曲靈感來自法蘭克辛納屈（Frank Sinatra）在喜劇西部片《德州四勇士／4 for Texas》（1963）中的一句台詞：「他們告訴我，這雙靴子不是用來走路的。」

Lee Hazlewood原本打算自己錄製這首歌，他說“這首歌其實不太適合女孩唱”，但法蘭克辛納屈勸他放棄了這個想法，說“如果由一個男人來唱，會顯得粗暴無情，但很適合小女孩唱”。Hazlewood同意了。
