加入娛樂圈鉅子David Geffen剛成立的Geffen唱片 成為其首位簽約歌手
１９８０年１０月，唐娜推出在新東家的首張大碟／事業第八張專輯［The Wanderer／流浪者］
仍由Giorgio Moroder&Pete Bellotte製作，桑瑪參與五首歌曲創作
改以搖滾主導, 並加入鄉村搖滾（Rockabilly）, 新浪潮跟福音樂風 廣受好評 被認為是桑瑪事業最佳大碟之一
［The Wanderer／流浪者］登上美國專輯榜＃１３，副榜──靈魂專輯榜＃１２，
雖然沒以前大碟高，但也拿到金唱片（５０萬張＋）
歐洲表現則差強人意．

第三主打為１９８１年９月推出的［Who Do You Think Youre Foolin／你想你在愚弄誰］
登上美國Billboard單曲榜＃４０
副榜──舞曲榜＃８，澳大利亞榜＃１００．
其 B面歌曲為專輯曲目［Running for Cover／尋找掩護］，
由桑瑪創作，Giorgio Moroder&Pete Bellotte製作成一首流行搖滾，
