１９９１年　和聲歌手出身的美國藝人雪瑞兒可洛（Sheryl Crow）與A&M唱片公司簽約，開始製作首張專輯
但成品不如預期　雪瑞兒甚至要求公司別發行這張大碟，她也陷入１年半的憂鬱症
後來可洛的工程師男友重新將大碟混音，並有一堆樂界朋友參與．

１９９３年８月 ，３１歲半的雪瑞兒可洛（終於推出首張大碟〔Tuesday Night Music Club／星期二夜音樂俱樂部〕（A&M唱片）

１９９４年４月，可洛推出第二單曲［Leaving Las Vegas／遠離賭城］

由雪瑞兒，David Baerwald，Bill Bottrell，Brian MacLeod，David Ricketts，Kevin Gilbert創作，
歌曲標題取自已故 John OBrien１９９０年的同名半自傳小說，

OBrien是這首歌的作者之一大David Baerwald 的好友。

大衛萊特曼深夜秀表演結束後，主持人問克洛這首歌是否是自傳。

她回答“有點”，因為她已經離開洛杉磯。

這激怒了Baerwald和原週二之夜音樂俱樂部的其他成員，他們幫助創作這張專輯大部分內容。

儘管OBrien在事件發生後不久就自殺了，但他的家人出面表示兩者之間沒有關聯。
